Guide to High Sea Fishing

Yes.
It’s finally here. We can fish on high sea. OK, let’s pick up the
fish rod and bait, sail straight to those fish shoal on high sea. Let
the high sea fishing begin.

Kinds of fish rod
There are four kinds of fish rods so far. Level from low to high, they
are Rod, Fine Fishing Rod, Navigation Fishing Rod, and Deep-sea Fishing
Rod.
A very important thing you need to know is that the level of fish rod
has nothing to do with the fishing success rate, but it matters what
level of fish you can get from it. For an example, you are using a
level 1 fish rod (Rod), and you have a chance to get a high level fish,
but your fish rod’s level isn’t high enough, then you fail to get
that high level fish.

Kinds of bait
There are three kinds of baits. Level from low to high, they are Cheap
Fishing Bait, Common Fishing Bait, and Senior Fishing Bait. And the
level of bait has something to do with the level of fish you get.

Where to fish?
I think many of you have already seen those shoals on high sea. Yes, you need to fish there.

How to fish?
Before you start fishing, you need to put bait on your rod. Just right
click on the bait, and then left click on the rod. After you put bait
on rod, the fish rod will show the level of the bait you added.
After you add bait, then you can choose a shoal. Sail your ship near
the shoal, select the shoal you are going to fish at, and then right
click on the rod you are going to use. Ok, you are fishing. ^_^
Every time after you started fishing, there will be a 30 seconds timer
on top left of your screen. During the 30 seconds, your ship can’t
move, otherwise you will fail to fish. Something more important is that
your ship cannot be too far away from the fish shoal since those shoals
are always traveling. If the fish shoal you fish at moves out of your
rod fishing area, and it’s fail to fish also.
Requested by GM, I’m adding this
little tip here. Since those shoals are always moving, you better have
a driver with you. Team up with someone else, use United Fleet Mode.
The Driver moves when the shoal moves, then you won’t fail that much.
^_^

The most important thing
Many people may concern about whether the fishing skill level can affect the success rate or not.
The answer is yes. Higher your fishing skill level, higher your success
rate. Level 1 Fishing Skill has 40% success rate, but what if you have
level 100 Fishing skill? No fail I guess.

Durability
Regardless the level of your fish rod, they all have 100 durability on
it, and they cannot be repaired. Each attempt of fishing will reduce 1
durability no matter you fail or succeed. When the durability reaches
0, the rod cannot be used anymore.

Where to get rod or bait?
Rod
Currently, VCO is holding an event, and you may get a chance to receive rod from it.
